KATHMANDU: India has sent its fifth consignment of emergency assistance for Nepal following the devastating Bhotekoshi floods.
Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said in a social media post on Wednesday that the fifth Indian aircraft has departed for Nepal.
“The aircraft is carrying a 11-member rescue team with specialized equipment and 5.5 tons of essential medicines,” Jaishankar said in a post on X.
The Bhotekoshi flood has claimed more than 1,100 lives so far, while more than 3,900, including government officials, security personnel, tourists and their guides, are among the missing.
