Indefinite curfew order imposed in Birgunj

KATHMANDU: Indefinite curfew orders have been imposed in Birgunj Metropolitan City from 5 p.m. on Monday.

Chief District Officer of Parsa, Dinesh Sagar Bhusal, issued the curfew orders after disputes between two groups of people in neighboring Rautahat district spilled over into Birgunj on Monday. Incidents of scuffles and clashes were reported during the demonstration organized in Birgunj on Monday.

According to the District Administration Office, Parsa, people are not allowed to move, assemble, or conduct processions in areas extending from Nagawa intersection to the east, Tilawe bridge to the west, Prawanpur to the north, and Miteri bridge to the south.
