POKHARA: Nepal Samajbadi Party (NSP) leader Fanindra Devkota, who has been suspended from the Gandaki Province Assembly, has said that he will approach the Supreme Court for legal remedy.
Expressing surprise at the action taken by the CPN (Maoist Center), Devkota said he supported the government of Surendra Raj Pandey of Nepali Congress (NC) as he contested the election as a common candidate of the electoral alliance of NC, CPN (Maoist Center) and Nepal Samajbadi Party (NSP).
Speaking at a press conference in Pokhara on Friday evening after he was expelled from the province assembly, Devkota, who was also serving as the Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Water Supply in the province government, claimed that the action taken against him was unconstitutional and politically incorrect.
“I had anticipated it, but I did not expect them to issue a suspension notice like this,” he added.
