I have noticed indications of split in UML, says Dahal

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, who is also the chairman of the CPN (Maoist Center), has indicated that he has observed signs of a potential split within the CPN-UML.

Speaking at a meeting organized by the Socialist Front in Surkhet on Thursday, Dahal said, “I have noticed indications of division within the main opposition party. We can come together again if such a split occurs.”

Dahal further emphasized that the revolution of the Socialist Front should begin from Karnali. “Once our gatherings are completed across all provinces, we will mobilize hundreds of thousands of people onto the streets,” Dahal said. “When KP Sharma Oli dissolved parliament, we achieved victory only after people came to the streets.”

Touching on the ongoing probes into various irregularities, Dahal said that the government was sparing no effort in tackling corruption. “For the cause of social justice and effective governance, this Front’s unified efforts will yield success,” Dahal stated. “My concern isn’t about the tenure of my government. I’ve told CIB officials that you can arrest me if I have committed any mistake.”
