House meeting postponed again due to RSP convention

KATHMANDU: The meeting of the House of Representatives has been affected due to the extension of the schedule for the 1st General Convention of the ruling Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP).

The House meeting was postponed for the second time as the convention, which was originally scheduled to be held from Sunday to Tuesday, is continuing even on Friday.

The meeting of the lower house scheduled for 1 pm on Friday has now been rescheduled to 11 am on Saturday.

According to Federal Parliament Secretariat Spokesperson Ekram Giri, the meeting was postponed as ministers and lawmakers affiliated with the RSP are still in Chitwan to attend the convention.

The agenda for Friday’s meeting included the presentation of five important bills and the annual report of the Office of the Auditor General.

The RSP’s general election has elected 99 Central Committee members. However, the convention is still ongoing as the process of selecting office-bearers has yet to be completed.
