KATHMANDU: The House of Representatives meeting has been adjourned until Thursday.

The meeting was postponed after opposition parties continued to obstruct proceedings, demanding Prime Minister Balen Shah’s presence during discussions on the government’s policy and program for the fiscal year 2026/67.

Although the meeting convened for the third time on Wednesday after repeated adjournments, opposition lawmakers again stood up in protest and disrupted the session. Following the obstruction, Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal announced that all items listed on the schedule for Wednesday had been removed.

He added that the House will now convene at 11 am on Thursday to allow lawmakers to present their amendments to policy and program and participate in discussions. The government will also respond to queries raised by lawmakers on Thursday.
