KATHMANDU: Sixteen Deputy Inspector Generals (DIGs) of Nepal Police have been assigned new responsibilities.
According to a notice published by the Nepal Police Headquarters on Tuesday, the senior police officers were given new roles as per the minister-level decision made on Tuesday.
DIG Chandra Kuber Khapung has been transferred from the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) to Koshi Provincial Police Office. Similarly, DIG Yagya Binod Pokharel has been moved to Madhesh Provincial Police Office from the Central Investigation Bureau, while DIG Bishnu Kumar KC has been given a new responsibility at the Bagmati Provincial Police Office. He is currently deputed at the Research, Planning, and Development Directorate.
Likewise, DIG Bikash Raj Khanal has been transferred to Gandaki Provincial Police Office from the Operation Department, while Spokesperson DIG Kuber Kadayat has been given a new responsibility at Lumbini Provincial Police Office. Similarly, DIG Lalmani Acharya has been transferred from Kathmandu Valley Police Office to Karnali Provincial Police Office, while DIG Rabindra KC, who is with the National Police Training Academy, has been transferred to Karnali Provincial Police Office.
Similarly, DIG Surendra Prasad Mainali of Civil Investigation Directorate has been transferred to Nepal Police School, Chitwan. DIG Buddhi Raj Gurung has been transferred from Gandaki Provincial Police Office to the CIA, and Bagmati Police Chief DIG Kiran Rana has been brought to the Central Investigation Bureau.
Meanwhile, Koshi Police Chief DIG Rajesh Nath Bastola has been transferred to the Research, Planning, and Development Directorate. DIG Bharat Bahadur Bohara has been transferred from Sudurpashchim Provincial Police Office to the Operations Department, and DIG Bhim Prasad Dhakal has been transferred from Karnali Provincial Police Office to the Inspector General’s Secretariat.
Likewise, DIG Durga Singh has been transferred from Nepal Police Training School, Chitwan, to Kathmandu Valley Police Office. DIG Umesh Raj Joshi from Lumbini Provincial Police Office to the National Police Training Academy, and DIG Janak Bhattarai from Madhesh Provincial Police Office to the Civil Investigation Directorate.
