Hearing committee approves nomination of six ambassadors

KATHMANDU: The Parliamentary Hearing Committee has endorsed the nomination of six Nepali ambassadors to different missions abroad.

A cabinet meeting held on July 16 nominated Lok Bahadur Thapa for Nepal’s permanent mission in New York, Ram Prasad Subedi for Nepal’s permanent mission in Geneva, Sudhir Bhattarai for France, Ghanshyam Lamsal for Kuwait, Tej Bahadur Chhetri for the UAE, and Dhan Bahadur Oli for Thailand.

The Parliamentary Hearing Committee conducted a thorough evaluation of the nominees and unanimously endorsed all six ambassadorial appointments. As part of the hearing process, each nominee presented their respective work plans, according to Gyanendra Bahadur Karki, the committee’s chairman.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will now send the names of the nominated ambassadors to the respective countries for agreemo.
