KATHMANDU: Hamro Patro Remit has launched a social initiative titled “Send Local, Support Local,” aimed at supporting communities in Nepal beyond its core remittance services.
As part of the campaign’s first activity, the company distributed school bags, notebooks, and pencils to students of Shree Bangba Basic School in Sindhupalchowk.
According to the company, the initiative is built on the idea that remittances can create a broader social impact. The company has said that it would set aside a portion of transaction fees collected through its platform to provide support to underprivileged students across the country.
“For many Nepalis, sending money home is an act of care and responsibility,” the company said in a statement. “Through the ‘Send Local, Support Local’ initiative, we aim to extend that care to communities in need.”
The company has said that it plans to expand similar community-focused activities in the future.
Hamro Patro Remit, built on the Hamro Patro platform, provides remittance services for Nepalis abroad, enabling fast, secure, and affordable money transfers to Nepal.
