Govt spends 19.57% of budget in four months

KATHMANDU: The total government spending over the first four months of the current fiscal year stands at Rs 350.98 billion. The spending is 19.57% of the total budget size.

Of the total spending, Rs 281.38 billion has been spent toward current expenditure, according to the Financial Comptroller General Office. The spending made over four months is 23.78% of the total budget allocated for current expenditure.

The government has allocated Rs 1,183.23 billion for current expenditures in the current fiscal year.

Likewise, the government has managed to spend Rs 26.29 billion of capital budget over the four-month period. A total of Rs 380.38 billion has been allocated for capital expenditure in the current fiscal year. It is 6.99% of the total allocation.

Likewise, the government has allocated Rs 230.21 billion for fiscal management. Of the total allocation, Rs 43.33 billion, or 18.81%, has been spent so far.

Meanwhile, the government has mobilized Rs 268.07 billion in revenue over the first four months of the current fiscal year. It is 19.11% of the Rs 1,403.14 billion that the government targets to raise in the current fiscal year. Of the total revenue, Rs 245.78 billion is from tax revenue and Rs 22.28 billion is from non-tax revenue.

In the four-month period, the government received Rs 3.41 billion in foreign assistance. It is 6.16% of the Rs 55.45 billion set by the government for the current fiscal year.
