KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has expressed commitment to start a one-point service center to facilitate foreign investors.

Addressing the Nepal-China Business Forum 2023, jointly organized by the Confederation of Nepali Industries (CNI) and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) in Kathmandu on Tuesday, he said that a law on this matter was in the process of being enacted.

“The government is committed to creating a conducive environment for foreign investors,” he said.

He requested the Chinese business delegation to facilitate exports of medicinal herbs, vegetables, tea, meat, and other products to China. Dahal also expressed a commitment to not allow Nepali land to be used against its neighbors.

Speaking at the program, CCPIT Vice President Zhang Shaogang stressed the need to further strengthen over six decades of Nepal-China relationship. He also said that China was giving duty-free access to over 98% of Nepal’s exportable goods.

Similarly, Chinese ambassador to Nepal Chen Song expressed a commitment to help Nepal, which has recently graduated to a developing economy, in infrastructure development.

CNI President Bishnu Prasad Agarwal called on the Chinese government to open all border points and create a conducive environment for cross-border business.

A 12-member delegation of CCPIT is in Nepal to participate in the forum that began on Monday.
