KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Balendra Shah has said the government was committed to good governance and inclusive economic growth. “We aim to benefit from the global market, simplify procedures to attract large-scale investment, promote innovation, and achieve sustainable development to create new opportunities for the people,” he added.
During a joint meeting with ambassadors of the European Union (EU) and its member states on Tuesday, Shah said Nepal aims to benefit from the global market by simplifying procedures to attract large-scale investment, and promoting innovation and sustainable development to create new opportunities for the people.
She said the government was committed to improving the living standards of Nepali people in tangible and visible ways and added that it was fully aware of the urgency of the current moment and the serious responsibility entrusted to it. “Being new does not mean a complete break from the past. We are fully committed to safeguarding democratic values and maintaining political stability while ensuring that Nepal’s policy direction remains clear, stable, and predictable,” Shah said in the meeting.
The Prime Minister also made it clear that Nepal will continue to pursue a balanced and pragmatic foreign policy. “Our relations with neighbors, development partners, and friendly nations are guided by the principles of mutual respect, sovereign equality, and shared prosperity,” he said.
Expressing gratitude to all development partners and friendly countries for their continued goodwill and support for Nepal’s development and prosperity, Shah expressed Nepal’s commitment to strengthening cooperation in trade, investment, green energy, climate action, tourism, and other key sectors.
At the meeting, EU ambassadors praised Nepal for successfully conducting peaceful elections. They also congratulated Prime Minister Shah on assuming leadership of the new government and expressed their readiness to cooperate and invest in various sectors to support Nepal’s economic growth.
