KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Balendra Shah has appointed vice-chancellors to seven universities.
Shah, who also serves as the chancellor of these universities, made the appointments on Friday. He has appointed Dr Bhola Thapa as vice-chancellor of Tribhuvan University.
Similarly, Kishan Datta Bhatta has been appointed to Sudurpashchim University, Rajan Suwal to Mid-Western University, Rishiram Kattel to Agriculture and Forestry University, Shyam Narayan Labh to Rajarshi Janak University, Devendra Adhikari to Pokhara University and Sujan Babu Marahatta to Purbanchal University.
Minister for Education and Sports Sashmit Pokharel, who also serves as co-chancellor of the universities, handed over appointment letters to the vice-chancellors on Friday.
Earlier, a recommendation committee led by Pokharel had recommended three names for each university.
