KATHMANDU: Nepal’s leading industrial conglomerate, Golchha Group, has joined hands with the Enhanced Skills for Sustainable and Rewarding Employment (ENSSURE) project to launch an industry-led apprenticeship program.
Golchha Group Chairman Shekhar Golchha and ENSSURE Team Leader Rabindra Bahadur Singh signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Kathmandu on Monday. The partnership aims to equip youths with market-relevant technical skills in fields like automobile engineering, mechanical engineering and information technology.
The program adopts the dual VET-Apprenticeship model, combining theoretical education with practical, on-the-job training. Apprentices will earn while they learn and receive pre-diploma certifications from CTEVT. Golchha Group also plans to promote lifelong learning, green skills, and workplace safety standards through this initiative.
“This collaboration showcases our commitment to empowering Nepalese youth with competitive job skills,” Golchha said in the signing ceremony. Similarly, Singh called the partnership a milestone for Nepal’s skilled workforce development.
ENSSURE is a bilateral initiative of the governments of Nepal and Switzerland.
