Four trapped in Bheri River flood rescued safely

KATHMANDU: Four individuals, who were trapped on an island following sudden flooding in the Bheri River, at Dhupichaur in Dolpa’s Thuli Bheri Municipality-3, were safely rescued by the Armed Police Force on Tuesday.

According to the Armed Police Force, Lalit Bohara (33), Nanda Prasad Bohara (26), Lal Kumar Budha (35) and Shyam Lal Bohara (37), all residents of Palung in Tripura Sundari Municipality–6 of Dolpa, were stranded on a river island when the water level suddenly increased while they were collecting firewood.

“As soon as we received information, a disaster response team from Armed Police Force Nepal No. 46 Battalion, Dolpa, led by DSP Dipak Raj Bhatta, was deployed for the rescue. The team rescued the trapped individuals safely,” APF Joint Spokesperson, DSP Shailendra Thapa, said.

Thapa added that the condition of all four is normal.
