KATHMANDU: Four Deputy Inspector Generals (DIG) of Nepal Police have been promoted to Additional inspector General (AIG).
The cabinet meeting held on Friday promoted DIGs Sandeep Bhandari, Sudeep Giri, Mira Chaudhary and Tek Bahadur Tamang to AIG as per the recommendation of the promotion committee formed by the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The cabinet had promoted 17 Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs) to the post of DIGs in June last year. Eight of them have now been promoted to AIG. Basanta Raj Kunwar, who was one of the SSPs promoted to DIG, is now the Inspector General of Nepal Police.
Among the DIGs promoted to AIG on Friday, Bhandari has been appointed at Human Resources Development Department, Giri at Province Coordination Directorate, Chaudhary at Operation Department, and Tamang at Crime Investigation Department.
