Four-day training for defence correspondents concludes

KATHMANDU: A four-day “Defense Correspondents Orientation Program” organized by the Nepali Army (NA) concluded on Thursday.

According to the Directorate of Public Relations and Information of the NA, the program had kicked off at the army headquarters on May 11.

Brigadier General Rajaram Basnet, chief of the directorate, distributed certificates to 29 participating journalists amid a ceremony at the Nepal Army headquarters.

On the occasion, five FM radio stations that have long been broadcasting Nepali Army radio programs in Kathmandu and surrounding districts were also honored with letters of appreciation.

As part of the training program, participating journalists were briefed on various activities of the Nepali Army, disaster response efforts, and other contemporary issues, along with interactive sessions.

“Such programs will help journalists working across the country report on army-related matters with greater ease and clarity,” the directorate said in a statement.
