KATHMANDU: The government has formed a committee to probe the death of Ganesh Nepali.
Nepali, who set himself on fire after city police personnel put a wheel lock on his motorcycle, succumbed to burn injuries while undergoing treatment at Bir Hospital on Friday morning.
Speaking at the House of Representatives on Friday, Minister for Home Affairs Sudan said a five-member panel led by DIG Govinda Thapaliya has been formed to investigate the incident. He added that three Kathmandu City Police personnel have been arrested for investigation and questioning.
Gurung said the government had made all necessary arrangements to airlift the victim to New Delhi for treatment, but doctors advised against transporting him due to his critical condition.
