Fire claims lives of two children in Panchthar

KATHMANDU: Two children died as a fire broke out at a house in Bharpa in Hilihang Rural Municipality-7 of Panchthar district on Friday evening.

According to Samar Bahadur Adhikari, chairman of the rural municipality, the two children were alone in the house when the fire broke out.

The deceased children have been identified as Sheshehang Panthak (5) and Nishan Khati (4).

“We don’t know what cause the fire,” Adhikari said. “The house is completely destroyed.”

14 houses destroyed in Terhathum

Meanwhile, a massive fire has destroyed 14 houses in Chuhandanda, Athrai Rural Municipality-6 of Terhathum district.

According to Dil Kumar Pahim, the chairman of the rural municipality, the fire broke out at approximately 6 pm causing complete damage to the 14 houses.

The police and locals are trying to control the fire, according to Pahim.
