Final tributes paid to Joshi

KATHMANDU: Political leaders, government officials and members of the public are paying final tributes to historian and culture expert Satya Mohan Joshi who passed away in Lalitpur on Sunday morning.

The body of the 103-year-old scholar has been kept on the premises of Lalitpur Metropolitan City Office for final tributes.

Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba draped Joshi’s body with the national flag and offered his tributes. Senior leaders of most of the political parties reached Lalitpur Metropolitan City Office and paid their tributes to the centenarian.

Joshi was receiving treatment at Kist Hospital for prostrate and heart ailments since 2023.

His body won’t be cremated as Joshi had donated his body to the hospital for study purposes.
