POKHARA: Gandaki Chief Minister Surendra Raj Pandey has inducted two new ministers in his cabinet.
Pandey has rewarded two lawmakers who supported his motion of vote of confidence in the Gandaki Province Assembly on Monday. He has appointed Fanindra Devkota of Nepal Samajbadi Party (NSP) as Minister for Energy, while Independent Member Rajiv Gurung has been given an infrastructure development portfolio.
Devkota, who was elected using the election symbol of CPN (Maoist Center), defied the Maoist Center’s whip to give a trust vote to Chief Minister Pandey.
Province Chief Dilliraj Bhatta administered the oath of office and secrecy to the new ministers amid a ceremony on Tuesday.
