ITAHARI: A 53-year-old man died due to an elephant attack in Morang on Monday morning.

According to DSP Ranjan Kumar Nepal, the spokesperson for the District Police Office, Morang, the deceased has been identified as Kamal Majhi of Letang-3. “Preliminary investigation shows the elephant attacked Majhi while he was cycling in Sirjana Community Forest,” he added.

Rabin Khadka of Itahari-2 died in an elephant attack on Wednesday night.

A herd of over two dozen elephants has been wreaking havoc in Sunsari, Morang, and Jhapa, among other districts in eastern Nepal.
