ECB “planning” T20I series in Nepal

KATHMANDU: The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) is planning a maiden tour of Nepal, leading cricket news website ESPN Cricinfo reported on Monday.

The Nepal tour could be organized as part of the Future Tours Programme (FTP) for 2027–31, which the ECB has been working on. “They are seriously considering a short men’s tour to Nepal at some stage in that cycle, which would likely fit into their schedule immediately before a subsequent white-ball tour — in India, for example,” ESPN Cricinfo wrote.

If the plan materializes, England will become the second ICC full member nation to tour Nepal. Earlier in March, Cricket Ireland announced plans for a white-ball tour to Nepal in the winter of 2026/27.

ESPN Cricinfo reported that Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) Secretary Paras Khadka held discussions with ECB officials after Nepal’s fixture against England on February 8.

England won the fixture by a narrow margin of six runs. Chasing England’s total of 184/7 in 20 overs, Nepal folded for 180/6.
