Dholahiti gang fight leaves two dead

KATHMANDU: Two youths died when two gangs clashed at Dholahiti of Lalitpur on Sunday night, according to the District Police Office.

Police Inspector Naresh Raj Subedi, spokesperson of the District Police Office, Lalitpur, told RSS news agency that two persons lost their lives during a clash between two groups at around 9 pm. “The police were informed after the injured were brought to Patan Hospital at around 11 pm. The police team was immediately mobilized to the incident site, and some individuals were taken into control for interrogation. The cause of the incident is still unknown,” he added.

The deceased have been identified as 28-year-old Rowas Rai, a resident of Dholaiti originally from Dharan, Sunsari district, and 30-year-old Pujan Rai, a resident of Khumaltar originally from Panchthar district, according to Subedi.

Police have taken 18 individuals into control on suspicion of their involvement in the incident, according to RSS.
