KATHMANDU: Former Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba is scheduled to address a national gathering of party workers called by the party’s dissident faction in Kathmandu on Friday.
The gathering is scheduled to begin at 11:30 am at Miracle Party Palace in Sukedhara.
Deuba returned to Kathmandu on Thursday after spending around five months abroad for medical treatment. NC leaders and cadres welcomed him at the airport upon his return.
According to Min Bishwakarma, coordinator of the dissident faction’s publicity committee, the closed-door sessions of the gathering will be held on August 15 and 16.
He said the closed-door sessions will discuss various issues and make decisions on the party’s future policies and programs.
Dissident faction leaders say around 5,000 party leaders and cadres from across the country are expected to participate in the event.
