Deepak Thapa appointed Inspector General of Nepal Police

KATHMANDU: Additional Inspector General (AIG) Deepak Thapa has been appointed as the new Inspector General of Nepal Police.

A Cabinet meeting held on Monday decided to promote AIG Thapa to the rank of Inspector General.

Thapa, who currently heads the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police, replaces Basanta Bahadur Kunwar, who is retiring at Monday midnight after reaching the 30-year service limit. Thapa was the senior-most AIG in the Nepal Police.
