KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal is taking a vote of confidence in the House of Representatives on Monday.

He is expected to get the support of ten political parties, including Nepali Congress, CPN (Maoist Center), Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), Janata Samajbadi Party (SJP), CPN (Unified Socialist), Janamat Party, Nagarik Unmukti Party, Loktantrik Samajbadi Party (LSP), Nepal Samajbadi Party, and Aam Janata Party, among others. Of them, NC, Maoist Center, RSP, and LSP, among others, have formally decided to give a vote of confidence to Dahal.

Dahal, who was appointed Prime Minister on December 25 with the support of CPN-UML, Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), and RSP, among others, earlier took a vote of confidence on June 10. However, he is taking another floor test as UML and RPP withdrew their support after Maoist Center decided to support the candidate of Nepali Congress.

Dahal, who is also the chairman of CPN (Maoist Center), needs to have the support of 138 members of the House of Representatives. He is likely to get the support of over 170 members of the 275-member House of Representatives.
