CM Rawal fails to get vote of confidence in Sudurpashchim

DHANGADHI: Chief Minister of Sudurpashchim Province, Rajendra Singh Rawal, won’t be able to continue in the position any further.

The CPN-UML province assembly member, who was appointed Chief Minister a month ago with the support of seven parties, had to get a vote of confidence by Thursday. The province assembly, however, rejected his proposal for a vote of confidence with majority.

The support of Nagarik Unmukti was key to form government in the province. All seven members of the party boycotted the meeting of the province assembly on Thursday.

The party has been demanding for immediate release of its founding president Resham Chaudhary and other leaders and cadres convicted in the infamous Tikapur incident of 2015.
