CK Raut re-elected Janamat Party chairperson

KATHMANDU: CK Raut has been re-elected as chairperson of the Janamat Party.

The party’s 2nd General Convention held in Birgunj re-elected Raut to the position.

Raut received 958 votes.

Although he was the sole candidate for the post of chairperson, voting was held as per a provision in the party statute that requires a candidate to secure at least 20% of the total valid votes cast.

The convention also elected a 99-member Central Committee. Janamat’s Central Committee has 26 office-bearers.

Anita Kumari Mandal, Anita Devi Sah, Narendra Prasad Chaudhary, Basant Kumar Kushwaha, Dr Jaikant Raut, Raj Kumar Yadav and Madhav Prasad Singh were elected vice presidents.

Similarly, Sanjay Kumar Yadav of Siraha was elected general secretary. Nirmal Kumar Mandal, also from Siraha, was elected deputy general secretary.

Likewise, Surendra Sharma, Paras Prasad Sah, Santosh Raj Sahani, Anjani Devi, Radha Kumari Yadav, Harendra Chaudhary and Bal Govind Chaudhary were elected as secretaries.

The remaining nine office-bearers will be nominated by the Central Committee.
