KATHMANDU: The Special Court has granted permission to the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) to keep Department of Passport Director General Tirtharaj Aryal and Director Sunil Kumar KC in custody for four days.
A division bench of Special Court Chairperson Sudarshan Dev Bhatt and members Umesh Koirala and Bidur Koirala issued the order on Tuesday.
The CIAA had sought permission to detain them for 20 days, but the court granted only four days, effective from Monday.
A team from the CIAA arrested the two from the Department of Passport, Tripureshwar, on Tuesday morning in connection with an investigation into alleged corruption in passport printing.
