KATHMANDU: Rajunath Pandey, the chief of Kathmandu Metropolitan City’s (KMC) municipal police, has been suspended for six months.
KMC Chief Administrative Officer Saroj Guragain took disciplinary action against Pandey for obstructing his entry into his office a few weeks ago.
“A few days ago, Guragain had sought a written explanation from Pandey. As Pandey’s clarification was deemed unsatisfactory, Guragain decided to suspend him,” a source at the KMC said.
Following Pandey’s suspension, SP Bishnu Joshi, who is currently working in the disaster management section of the KMC, will assume responsibility as the chief of the municipal office.
