Chief Minister Mahara secures vote of confidence in Lumbini

LUMBINI: Lumbini Chief Minister Jokh Bahadur Mahara has secured a vote of confidence of the Lumbini Province Assembly.

Forty-eight province assembly members voted in favor of the confidence motion tabled by Mahara in the meeting of the Lumbini Province Assembly on Friday. Twenty-eight voted against him.

Provincial assembly members of CPN-UML, CPN (Maoist Center), Nagarik Unmukti Party, Janata Samajbadi Party and CPN (Unified Socialist) voted in favor of the confidence motion.

The Maoist Center’s parliamentary leader was appointed Chief Minister of Lumbini on April 5. He replaces Dilli Bahadur Chaudhary of Nepali Congress as the chief minister of Lumbini.
