CAN unveils new jersey for T20 World Cup

KATHMANDU: The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has unveiled a special jersey for the men’s national team participating in the 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.

Minister for Youth and Sports, Biraj Bhakta Shrestha, and Member Secretary of the National Sports Council, Tanka Lal Ghiring, unveiled the jersey during a ceremony in Kathmandu on Monday evening.

The new jersey, made by Kelme, incorporates all three colors of the national flag – blue, red, and white – as well as yellow. The national flag on the shoulders has been retained, while a rhino head and twin peaks are featured at the bottom.

Nepal is placed in Group D alongside South Africa, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and the Netherlands. Nepal kicks off its T20 World Cup campaign against the Netherlands in Texas on June 4, followed by matches against Sri Lanka in Florida on June 11, South Africa in Saint Vincent on June 14, and Bangladesh also in Saint Vincent on June 16.

The top two teams after the group stage advance to the Super 8.
