KATHMANDU: The government has decided to resend the Constitutional Council (Functions, Duties, Powers and Procedures) (First Amendment) Ordinance, 2026, to the Office of the President.
According to Government Spokesperson and Minister for Education, Science and Technology Sasmit Pokharel, a meeting of the Council of Ministers held on Monday decided to resubmit the ordinance to the Office of the President after necessary review.
The Office of the President on Sunday returned the ordinance to the Council of Ministers for reconsideration.
The cabinet also decided to accept a $52 million concessional loan and a $5 million grant to finance industries planning to replace traditional boilers with electric ones and to enhance air quality measurement capacity.
The meeting also decided to grant in-principle approval to Agriculture Inputs Company Pvt Ltd to procure 60,000 tons of urea fertiliser and 20,000 tonnes of DAP under a government-to-government arrangement with India.
The Cabinet also decided to approve the Singha Durbar Premises Revised Master Plan, including provisions related to entry to the Singha Durbar premises.
