By-elections: NC leading in Ilam-2, UML in Bajhang-1(A)

KATHMANDU: Dambar Bahadur Khadka of Nepali Congress is leading with a slim margin in the vote count in Ilam-2 constituency of the House of Representatives.

Khadka has taken a lead of 42 votes over Suhang Nembang of CPN-UML after counting of votes in Wards 1, 2, and 3 of Phakpokthung Rural Municipality. While Khadka has received 1,643 out of 4,181 votes counted so far, Nembang has secured 1,601 votes.

Independent candidate Dakendra Thegim and Rastriya Swatantra Party’s Milan Limbu are in third and fourth positions, respectively, with 437 and 305 votes.

Meanwhile, Daman Bahadur Bhandari of CPN-UML is leading in the Bajhang-1(A) seat of the Sudurpashchim Province Assembly.

Out of 4,219 votes counted so far, UML’s Bhandari has received 1,593 votes. Janak Bahadur Budha of CPN (Maoist Center) has received 998 votes, and Abhishek Bahadur Singh of Nepali Congress and and Dil Bahadur Singh of CPN (Unified Socialist) have got 955 and 595 votes, respectively.
