KATHMANDU: Online bus ticketing platform BusSewa has opened advance ticket bookings for the Dashain festival.
Issuing a statement, the company said it opened bookings from Thursday itself as per a decision made by the Department of Transport Management to open bookings from Friday.
The DoTM has also urged passengers to book tickets through online platforms instead of staying in queues at ticket counters.
BusSewa said in the statement that it was promoting digital ticketing this year under the message, “Book tickets online, not by standing in line,” to reduce long queues at bus parks during the festive season. According to the company, passengers can log in to the BusSewa mobile app or website to select their destination, travel date, bus and seats from the comfort of their home.
PR Khanal, chief executive director of Bus Sewa, said passengers booking advance tickets through the platform can receive discounts of up to Rs 100. The company is also offering cashback and other discounts through various banking and digital payment partners, he added.
Bus Sewa has said it has been continuously working to manage the availability of buses and seats on popular routes to facilitate travel during Dashain. The company added that it would try to arrange additional services and seats based on passenger demand.
