KATHMANDU: One person was killed and 10 others injured when a passenger bus met with an accident in Baitadi on Friday evening.
The accident occurred along the Dasharathchand Highway at Sailek in Dasharathchand Municipality-4.
According to the Armed Police Force (APF) Nepal, the deceased has been identified as Birendra Bahadur Chand (35) of Dasharathchand Municipality-6.
Five of the injured are reported to be in critical condition. The injured have been sent to Baitadi District Hospital for further treatment.
DSP Sahilendra Thapa, joint spokesperson for the APF Nepal, said the bus travelling from Dhangadhi to Baitadi went out of control and plunged about 30 metres off the road.
A joint team from the APF Nepal, Nepal Army and Nepal Police was deployed for rescue operations.
