KATHMANDU: Birgunj Mayor Rajesh Man Singh was arrested on Tuesday morning from Thori area of Parsa district in connection with a document-related fraud case.
According to SP Sudip Raj Pathak, chief of the District Police Office, Parsa, Singh was arrested based on an arrest warrant issued against him by the Parsa District Court.
The district court had issued the warrant based on a complaint filed by one Liaqat Ali.
Singh has been accused of facilitating the issuance of citizenship documents to a teenage girl by falsely presenting her as his own daughter using forged documents.
