Bhoto Jatra celebrations in Jawalakhel [In Pictures]

KATHMANDU: President Ram Chandra Paudel attended the traditional Bhoto Jatra ceremony at Jawalakhel of Lalitpur on Sunday.

Officials of the Guthi Sansthan displayed the ceremonial Bhoto, a sacred vest, from the chariot of the Rato Machhindranath, the deity of rain and prosperity. Bhoto Jatra marks the conclusion of the Rato Machhidranath chariot.

On the occasion, President Paudel worshipped Rato Machhindranath and Kumari, the living goddess of Patan.

Vice President Ramsahay Prasad Yadav, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, Speaker Devraj Ghimire, deputy prime ministers, ministers, heads of constitutional bodies and representatives of diplomatic missions were present on the occasion.
