KATHMANDU: The death toll from the devastating Bhotekoshi floods has reached 788.
According to the latest update from Nepal Police, 788 bodies have been recovered from different districts along the Trishuli River.
Police say 264 bodies have been recovered in Chitwan, 194 in Nawalparasi East, 130 in Nawalparasi West, 58 in Gorkha, 52 in Nuwakot, 50 in Dhading, 37 in Tanahun and 13 in Rasuwa.
A total of 2,682 people have been reported injured or rescued, according to the update. Of them, 671 were rescued in Rasuwa, 2,020 in Nuwakot and three in Dhading.
It also said 160 injured people treated at various hospitals in the Kathmandu Valley have been discharged.
