KATHMANDU: The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has lifted the ban on batter Mohammad Adil Alam, also known as Adil Ansari.
A meeting of the Integrity Committee of CAN held on Sunday decided to revoke the ban.
CAN had suspended Ansari, accusing him of spot-fixing during the Nepal T20 Cricket Tournament held between December 24, 2022, and January 11, 2023, at the TU International Cricket Ground.
He was subsequently banned from participating in national and international tournaments.
Along with Adil, Mehboob Alam, Nitesh Gupta, Naveen Kandel and Ravi Majhi were also charged with various offenses by the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB).
However, the Kathmandu District Court had acquitted all four on March 25, citing a lack of evidence.
With the ban lifted, Adil is now available for selection in all types of tournaments.
