Baina Bahadur Karki elected UML’s Kaski district chair

POKHARA: Baina Bahadur Adhikari has been elected as the chairperson of the Kaski District Committee of CPN-UML.

In the election for the new executive committee held during the party’s 11th District Convention in Pokhara on Tuesday night, Adhikari received 551 out of 914 cast votes. His opponent Madhav Bastola could muster 347 votes.

Adhikari is said to be close to UML Central Committee Member Khagaraj Adhikari, while Bastola is believed to have the blessing of Deputy General Secretary Prithvi Subba Gurung.

While the district convention started on Sunday, voting was held on Tuesday night.

Adhikari was previously serving as the secretary of UML’s Kaski District Committee.
