APF impounds Indian truck with 272 kg of marijuana from Rupandehi

KATHMANDU: A team of the Armed Police Force (APF) took a container truck with 272.33 kilograms of marijuana from the bypass area of Hulaki Rajmarga in Rohini Rural Municipality-1 of Rupandehi district on Tuesday.

The truck with Indian registration UP 78BT 8297 was heading towards India from Nepal, according to a statement issued by the APF. “APF personnel inspected the truck based on a tip-off,” the statement added.

The team has taken truck driver Indian national Satnam Singh (36) under its control. The truck and the truck driver have been handed over to the District Police Office, Bhairahawa, for further investigation, according to DSP Shailendra Thapa, the spokesperson for the APF.
