All-women teams to conduct election at three polling centers of Kaski

POKHARA: The election in three polling stations in Kaski will be conducted by all-women teams.

According to the Office of the Chief Election Officer, Kaski, all-women teams have been deployed in a model polling station in each constituency of the district.

Kaski has three constituencies of the House of Representatives.

The Election Commission is holding the House of Representatives and province assemblies on Sunday.

Under Secretary Sarita Rayamajhi is leading an all-women team of eight members at the Polling Center (B) of Pardi Secondary School Polling Station in Kaski-2 constituency.

Rayamajhi, who has successfully conducted elections in the past, said she would leave no stone unturned to conduct the election in a free, fair and peaceful environment.

Similarly, the Office of the Chief Election Officer has deputed an all-women team under the leadership of Gita Neupane at Jana Prakash Secondary School Polling Center at Bhandardhik of Kaski-1 and, another all-women team under Gita Ghimire Dorange at Community Building Polling Station at Basundhara Park of Kaski-3.

There are 344 polling centers in 150 polling stations in Kaski district. Of them, 50 polling stations have been rated as ‘highly sensitive’.

Speaking at a workshop organized in Pokhara recently, Chief District Officer of Kaski Tek KC briefed about the security situation in the district and asked officials concerned to take needful security arrangements.

Altogether 91 candidates, including 45 in province assembly elections, are in the fray. Kaski district has 291,568 voters which is about 10,000 voters more compared to the local body elections held in March.
