KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) President Gagan Kumar Thapa has said the party should reach out to people at their doorsteps to restore public trust.
Speaking at a party program in Putalibazaar, Syangja, on Monday, Thapa said the NC had lost people’s trust more than votes. “The NC hasn’t lost votes; we have lost people’s trust. If people’s trust is restored, votes will automatically follow,” he added.
Thapa said party leaders and cadres should meet voters, listen to their grievances and inform them about the changes within the party. He said party leaders, from the central to the ward level, should join hands to regain public trust.
“The party has undergone changes following the 15th General Convention. We are organizing awareness campaigns at the party’s grassroots level from November to inform the public about these changes,” he added.
