KATHMANDU: Minister for Health and Food Safety, Nisha Mehta, has said the tender process for the critical care and trauma center in Dhalkebar of Dhanusha is underway.
Inspecting the proposed site for the critical care and trauma center on Sunday, Mehta said she expected the foundation stone for the project to be laid soon.
“The tender documents have been signed by the ministry and sent to the relevant infrastructure agency. The tender will be called once the necessary procedures are completed, paving the way for construction to begin,” she said. “There is no need to doubt whether the trauma center will be built. The project has already been included in the government’s multiyear plan.”
Following the inspection, she said preparations at the proposed site appeared satisfactory and expressed confidence that the foundation stone would be laid soon.
During the inspection, House of Representatives Member Rajkishor Mahato said locals would be convinced only after construction work starts. Stating that the start of construction mattered more than assurances, he urged the minister to expedite the foundation-laying process.
