Deuba faction of NC decides to hold 15th General Convention on Dec 7-9

KATHMANDU: The Sher Bahadur Deuba faction of the Nepali Congress (NC) has decided to hold the party’s 15th General Convention in Kathmandu on December 7 to 9.

A meeting of the Central General Convention Preparation Committee held at the faction’s liaison office in Chundevi published the convention schedule on Thursday.

As per the schedule, ward and local-level conventions will be held on October 6, provincial assembly electoral constituency and House of Representatives electoral constituency conventions on October 9, district conventions on November 1, and provincial conventions on November 21.

According to the faction, dates for conventions in the Bhotekoshi flood-affected districts of Rasuwa, Nuwakot and Dhading will be announced later.

The meeting also decided that new active members as of September 25; all active members who participated in the 14th General Convention; all active members eligible to participate in the 15th General Convention as decided by the 14th General Convention, active members who renewed their membership by December 25, 2025; and new active members who had submitted their active membership forms by the same deadline will be eligible to participate in the general convention.

The party’s establishment faction, meawhile, has already decided to hold the 15th General Convention in Kathmandu on Oct 2-5.
