KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has nominated new office bearers and central members to fill vacant positions.
A Central Committee meeting held at the party’s central office in Baneshwor on Friday made the appointments.
The meeting nominated Secretariat members, the party spokesperson, the treasurer, the joint treasurer, the joint general secretary and joint spokespersons as well as Central Committee members.
Minister for Foreign Affairs Sishir Khanal, Deputy Leader of RSP parliamentary party Ganesh Parajuli, former General Secretary Kabindra Burlakoti, Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Biraj Bhakta Shrestha, Lima Adhikari, Deepak Raj Bohora, Samiksha Baskota, Shiva Nepali, Indira Rana Magar and Manish Jha have been promoted to the party’s Secretariat.
Former Communications Minister Jagadish Kharel has been appointed as the party spokesperson.
Similarly, Dr Manohar Pradhan and Basumaya Tamang have been nominated as Treasurer and Joint Treasurer, respectively.
Purushottam Yadav has been appointed Joint General Secretary, while Nanita Yadav and Surendra Chaudhary have been appointed Joint Spokespersons.
The meeting also appointed chiefs of six party departments. Pramod Neupane as head of the Organization Department, Nisha Dangi as head of the Infrastructure Department, Shishir Khanal as head of the International and Diplomacy Department, Lima Adhikari as head of the Finance Department, Bijaya Jairu as head of the Public Service and Grievances Department, and Dr. Toshima as head of the Public Health Department.
Similarly, Minister for Home Affairs Sudhan Gurung, Minister for Infrastructure Development Sunil Lamsal, Minister for General Administration Pratibha Rawal, former General Secretary Bhupdev Shah, Surendra Chaudhary and Dr Bhakta Bahadur Rai have been nominated as Central Committee members.
The positions of one Vice President, one General Secretary and one Joint General Secretary are still vacant.
