KATHMANDU: Rastriya Sawtantra Party (RSP) has begun preparations for the upcoming local body elections.
The party’s Central Working Committee meeting, which is underway at the party’s central office in Banasthali, is scheduled to endorse the “Candidate Selection Framework 2026” for the upcoming local elections. It is also expected to discuss the preparation of an official document on the “right to recall.”
The party is also scheduled to hold discussions on party documents, organizational management and nominations, plans, programs and campaigns, among other issues.
Under organizational management and nominations, the meeting is expected to make decisions on the nomination of central committee members, office bearers, secretariat members and department chiefs.
The meeting will also discuss the nomination of members to the Central Candidate Selection Committee for the local elections.
Under plans, programs and campaigns, the meeting will discuss conducting orientation and training programs at the local level on the candidate selection framework under the leadership of the central committee and members of the House of Representatives.
Likewise, the meeting will discuss a proposal to publish a monthly digital magazine titled “Swatantra” as the party’s official publication, according to General Secretary Bipin Kumar Acharya.
