Speaker schedules PM’s Q&A session for Aug 26

KATHMANDU: The House of Representatives has scheduled a question-and-answer session with Prime Minister Balendra Shah on August 16.

“I would like to inform you that the direct question-and-answer program with the Prime Minister pursuant to Chapter 9 of the House of Representatives Rules, 2026 has been scheduled for August 26,” Speaker Aryal said on Monday.

Aryal has requested interested lawmakers to register their names. “I would also like to inform you that a maximum of 15 questions can be asked, with at least one member representing each party present in the House of Representatives,” he added.

According to the House of Representatives Rules, 2026, a question-and-answer session with the Prime Minister must be held during the first week of every month.

Earlier, Speaker Aryal had issued a ruling to Prime Minister Shah to attend the House meeting and respond to questions raised by lawmakers.
